Review :
Ten million years ago, they were engaged in a battle for supremacy of the ocean, before something happened and they got, er, frozen or something. Now, thanks to global warming, climate change, a military experiment gone awry, or one of those things, they’ve been thawed out (after ten million years!) and free to roam the ocean once again. The only people who can stop them are ’80s pop singer Deborah “Don’t call me Debbie” Gibson and Lorenzo “Please, someone, a job, any job!” Lamas. God help us.
“Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus” is brought to you by writer/director Jack Perez and the people at The Asylum, makers of movies that not-so-subtly apes big-name Hollywood movies. I’m not sure which big movie they’re aping with “Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus”, but it sure has gotten a lot of attention on these here Internets. Then again, it is a movie about a giant shark the size of the Golden Gate Bridge (speaking of which, check out the shark attacking the Bridge in the pic below) and an Octopus that can swat submarines like they’re flies.
